Bosch's two families fail in different ways — Tassimo usually through reading, water flow and scale, bean-to-cup machines through the brewing unit and milk system. Knowing which family your machine belongs to also tells us which tests to run first.
Tassimo not reading the T DISC
Tassimo reads a barcode on each T DISC to set the drink. If it won't start or makes the wrong size, the barcode reader window is often dirty or the T DISC is damaged; we clean or test the reader. The yellow service T DISC supplied with the machine is read through the same window, so it needs to stay clean too.
Tassimo leaking or dripping
Leaks usually come from the brewing chamber seal or a T DISC that wasn't pierced properly. We inspect the piercing unit and seals and replace worn parts. Placing the T DISC barcode side down and closing the head firmly avoids most piercing problems.
Tassimo pumping little or no water
Weak flow is almost always scale or an airlock. We descale using the correct programme and check the pump and water tank valve. The yellow service T DISC is needed to run the descaling programme, so keep it with the machine.
Calc'nClean reminder won't go away
Calc'nClean combines descaling and cleaning on Bosch automatic machines. If the reminder keeps returning, a previous programme may have been interrupted; we run it fully and check the counter resets. Have the descaling and cleaning tablets ready before starting, so the programme runs through without long pauses.
Brewing unit won't come out
On VeroCup, VeroBar and Series models, a brewing unit that won't release is usually not in its home position. We reset it safely and inspect it rather than forcing it. Switching off at the main switch and back on lets the machine park the unit before you try again.
Coffee grinding but not flowing
Blocked coffee outlets and dirty brewing units stop coffee reaching the cup. We clean the brewing unit and outlet and check the grinder setting. Regular brewing unit rinsing and the right grind setting prevent most of these blockages.
Milk system not frothing
The milk pipe and frother clog with dried milk if not rinsed. We clean the milk system thoroughly and check the steam supply. Emptying and washing the milk container daily also keeps it hygienic in Dubai's heat.
Water tank reported empty when full
If the machine keeps asking for water, the tank float or sensor, or the tank's seating, may be at fault. We check each and correct the one causing it. Check that nothing is stuck in the tank outlet valve and that the tank sits fully in place.
Built-in machine overheating or not starting
Integrated Bosch machines need proper ventilation and a correct connection. We check the installation and the machine together. Keep the ventilation openings around the unit clear, as a blocked vent can trigger overheating.
Coffee not hot enough
Lukewarm coffee usually comes from scale in the heater or a low temperature setting. We descale, check the setting and test the heater. Pre-heating the cup and choosing a higher temperature in the menu also help.
