On Philips machines the brew group, the water circuit and the milk system account for most service calls. These are the faults we fix most often.
Brew group warning or brew group stuck
The removable brew group needs regular rinsing and lubrication. If the machine flags it or the group won't slide out, it is usually dry, dirty or out of position; we reset, clean and lubricate it with food-safe grease and check the drive. Taking the group out once a week and letting it dry fully before refitting prevents most of these warnings.
LatteGo not frothing
LatteGo has no tubes, but its two-part frothing chamber still collects dried milk. Poor froth usually means residue in the chamber or a heating issue, and we check both. Soaking the two LatteGo parts in warm water with a little detergent loosens stubborn residue.
Coffee grounds drawer message won't reset
If the machine keeps asking you to empty the grounds after you've done it, the drawer may not be detected or the counter hasn't reset. We check the drawer position and sensor. Empty the drawer only with the machine switched on so it can register that the drawer was removed.
Coffee trickling slowly
A slow trickle points to a clogged coffee spout, scale in the water circuit or a grind that is too fine. We clean the spout and brew path, descale and adjust the grind. Large amounts of pre-ground coffee in the chute can also slow the flow.
Machine asks to prime the water circuit
After descaling or a filter change, air can get trapped in the system. If priming doesn't cure it, we check the pump, tank valve and water hose. Make sure the water tank is pushed fully home, since a tank that isn't seated lets air into the system.
AquaClean alert keeps appearing
AquaClean filter alerts reappear when the filter isn't activated correctly in the menu or has reached its limit. We fit and activate the filter properly and check the counter. Prepare each new filter exactly as its instructions describe, so trapped air doesn't restrict the water flow.
Water in the drip tray after every drink
Some water in the tray is normal, but a flooded tray every time can mean a leaking brew group valve or seals. We inspect and replace worn seals. The drip tray also has a float indicator; when it pops up, the tray simply needs emptying.
Grinder noisy or not grinding
A rattling grinder or no grinding usually means a foreign object or bean bridging in the hopper. We clear the grinder, check the burrs and adjust the setting. Never pour pre-ground coffee into the bean hopper, as it clogs the grinder.
Coffee not hot enough
Lukewarm drinks are usually scale in the thermoblock or cold cups and spouts. We descale, test the heater and check the temperature setting. Pre-warming cups and choosing the highest temperature setting in the menu also make a noticeable difference.
Baristina not building pressure
The compact Baristina relies on a strong pump and a clean filter holder. Weak pressure is often a clogged filter or scale, which we clean and test. Using freshly roasted beans at the right fineness keeps pressure consistent.
